High Definition Television

I started this group so owners of HDTV's and Digital televison could ask each other questions and exchange information. Just like computers I am sure people have questions they would like answered. How about who has the best service/channels in your area, Comcast, Time Warner Cable, DSL, Direct TV etc. Tell us all about your new widescreen HDTV and if bigger is really better. What do you think about 3D HDTV?

High Definition Television

I have a 65 inch HDTV and I love it. Mine is rear projection but I still get a great picture. My recommendation to anyone who is looking to buy is that you find exactly what you want in screen size, cable outlets/inlets, and sound (built in or surround sound system). As far as HDMI outlets on the TV I recommend two or three. Make sure you have all the cables you will need before taking the TV home. I learned the hard way, I had to go back and buy additional cables and eventually the HDMI cable (Best for great picture from a DVD player). If you are going to use cable TV and a set top box I recommend you visit this site if it is a Scientific Atlanta box: http://www.cisco.com/web/consumer/support/settop_8300hddvr.html
It will be helpful in setting up your television and has good information. When I bought mine the cable guy who came out to hook it up new nothing about HDTV. Read your manual before they come out so you will be able to help them out.

It is nice to have a good surround sound sytem too. Mine is a Pioneer 1000 watts system.
