Today is the anniversary of the death of Truman Capote, who is often credited with pioneering the "true crime" genre of non-fiction. In his honor I thought I would post a topic for those who are fans of crime and mystery writers. Do you have any great ones that you follow and would like to share?

Hi and nice to see you : )
I don't know that book at all and I will have to check it out. It sounds good... love mystery and NYC so how could I go wrong : )
As far as someone borrowing and never returning.. that is so wrong ....
Thank you for the suggestion.
Diane
Hi nyadrn! Fancy meeting you here! I love reading about Crime, Mysteries, History, and Science. One of my favorite books is "The Alienist" by Caleb Carr. I lent it to someone and never got it back. If my memory serves me well, it's set in the time when Teddy Roosevelt was Police Commissioner of NYC (correct me if I'm wrong). There are lots of historical facts blended into a fictional murder mystery. I enjoyed it very much.
Yes, I enjoyed "In Cold Blood" by Truman Capote.
Hi! The site BOMC2/Zooba, do you have there email address or their phone number and where are they located.?
Have a nice evening or have a nice day.
Phyllis
Hi!
Have you tried at Barnes & Nobles to see if they have them.
They have so many books, I really would be surprised if they didn't have it.
Phyllis
Hi, Phyllis
Good luck at finding One for the Money (and then Two and all the way up to the new Fifteen!!!), Cream Puff Murder and Key Lime Pie Murder. Do let me know if you do find them.
The last two books mentioned above are by Joanne Flukes.
I imagine it would be best to go to Barnes and Noble online because then you can search for the books and also read about them before you buy them. Plus check out their prices.

I have been a big fan of BOMC2/Zooba for many years, too, and feel that a brand new hardcover bestseller as soon as it comes out for $9.95 including shipping and handling is quite a good bargain.
I have really built up my library that way, and I sure have a mountain of good books waiting to be read!!! I just have to keep up with my favorite authors as they come out with new releases!!!
Even those who are using the Kindle reader (not for me!!!) not only pay a big price up front but still have to pay $9.99 for every book they download. So I see no advantage to the Kindle. Plus, who wants to hold a reading machine instead of a real book???
How nice of you to have stocked that library with so many books!!
Jackie
Hi, Gene
No, there isn't a separate book, The Lady Bounty Hunter. That is what Stephanie Plum is in her series for which you will start with One for the Money.
I think you will really enjoy the series -- you'll have to let me know.
We have a cafe/coffee shop at our closest Books-A-Million, which is the only bookstore in our county. I have been to B&N and others in other places (when visiting my kids and grandkids) and just love the combination of books and sitting down for a good cup of coffee and perhaps a "sweet" of some kind!!!
I'm sad to hear that B&N may close up (I hope that won't happen), but I know that printed books and magazines are losing their interest for a lot of people in this technological age. What a pity!!!
I, too, enjoy these Book Talk groups and discussing books with other readers.

phyllids6280,
I go to the Barnes and Noble in the Chicago, Il suburbs of Arlington Heights, or Lincolnshire, though probably all are alike. It has a Starbucks section, a chairs and even coaches for comfortable resting, and wireless wiring.
