edited on October 12, 2009 03:06 PM ET I'm excited to invite you all to the AARP University session "Saving Green While Living Green" at the Member Event in Las Vegas. We've assembled a panel of experts that will give us cost effective ways to 'live green' in our home, with our health care, on our computers and in our travel. Special guest Peter Greenberg, Travel Editor for CBS News and AARP, will talk about the latest trend in travel, "eco-vacations", as well as what to look for in so-called green lodging. The session is scheduled for Friday at 4:00 p.m. Before you put on your party clothes for Friday night, come join us. I would love to meet our 'greenest' members! See you there. |

Hi and thanks for your post. I visited 350.org and it's too bad I didn't find it sooner! Thank you for the lead.
I'm working on a way to post the information from the Saving Green While LIving Green session at the Event, and will most likely post it here when I return after November 10th. I get to squeeze in some time with family and friends in Southern California as well as a trip to one of my favorite places, Sequoia National Park. After viewing the Ken Burns series on PBS, I was inspired to revisit some of those magnificent parks, and plan to include them in my vacation plans going forward.
Keep up the good work, spreading the word about how each of us has a part in reducing CO2.
I am unable to attend the Vegas event. Is there any way that you could post information on this site? I am very interested in what you find out. There are alot of things that I am learning about and getting info on. Are you aware of the website 350.org? If not, and you get a chance please go on it and check it out. It will also tell you about a global event that is happening on October 24th. It is easier to read up on it than for me to explain. The short of it is that we have gone over the limit of CO2 that the Earth can handle, and 350 is the magic number. It is an awareness issue that I believe we need to be unified on. If you go on, please let me know your thoughts. I have posted it on my facebook page, and emailed to others. I am trying to find a local event to participate in.
