Older Drivers: Don't Get Caught in the Dark

AARP urges drivers to consider the link between night visibility and safe driving. Even on familiar roads, motorists should use caution and watch for drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists who will be less visible at night. If you have trouble seeing well at night, get your vision checked, and consider taking a driver safety course to learn how to compensate in dark conditions.

Jamie Hammill, another boomer woman, lives with her husband in Richfield, N.C., about 50 miles outside of Charlotte. Her mother, Judy Hammill, is a young, 60+-year-old who lost her husband in 2006 after being married for more than 48 years.
