I am insulin dependent. Can I take the insulin in my carry-on so it doesn't get lost?
-Linda, Lochbouie, Colo.
The Transportation Security Administration permits travelers to carry with them all prescription and over-the-counter medications, such as liquids, gels, and aerosols. If your liquid medications are in volumes larger than 3 ounces each, you must declare them to the TSA, either verbally or in writing, and these liquid medications cannot be placed in the quart-sized bag; instead, they need to be kept separate from your belongings when you pass through the security checkpoint. To avoid any complications, I suggest you err on the side of caution and carry with you a letter from your physician as well. For more information, visit www.tsa.gov.
