Peter Greenberg: Preventing Deep Vein Thrombosis

I am 81 years old and my wife is 77. I booked a 16-day cruise from Beijing to Bangkok. Because of the long flight from New York, one of our friends talked to my wife, saying that it is long trip, you are too old, you could get blood clots, etc., and made me cancel this trip. I want to know if I can travel for 14 hours straight. I flew to Australia and many times to Greece almost every other year, and twice a year we fly to Europe. Please give some advice. –Paskalis, Hicksville, N.Y.

I'm traveling to the Middle East in a year, and the tour company is asking $855 for trip insurance, which includes coverage I don't need, since I have other emergency-medical insurance. Do you know of a company that offers trip-cancellation insurance only? –Patricia, Cypress, Calif.

Peter Greenberg: Listing a Parisian Apartment for Rental

Peter, My husband and I love to travel, and as our only daughter lives in France, we NEED to travel to visit her, our son-in-law, and granddaughter. Recently, we bought a small apartment in Paris (where they have been living for the past 8 years) and have built a Web site for rental of the apartment when we are not using it. As we have only recently started to solicit renters, do you have any suggestions on how to direct visitors to the site, www.theParisApt.com? It is a lovely one-bedroom in a wonderful neighborhood (the 15th arrondissement). Many thanks. –Donna, Germantown, Md.
