Going From Good to Great: A Livable Communities Survey in Westchester County, New York

More than seven in ten residents of Westchester County, New York, rate their community as excellent (14%), very good (26%), or good (31%), according to a recent telephone survey of 800 residents ages 50+. More than nine in ten say it is extremely (27%), very (45%), or somewhat (19%) important for them to remain in their community for as long as possible.

Going from Good to Great: Livable Communities Surveys in OH

Most Ohio residents age 45+ in Clermont County and in the community of Marietta are rooted in their community, satisfied with it, and think it is a good place to retire, according to this 2007-2008 study. However, most also agree that some problems, like street repair and limited public transportation, need to be addressed.

Healthy @ Home

Older adults and family caregivers are willing to use new technologies (such as telemedicine and telepharmacy) that can allow people to remain independent—and in their own homes—as they age. These December 2007 national surveys of adults age 65+ and caregivers age 45-75 conclude that both groups could benefit by knowing more about the range of technological innovations that are available today (and those that are on the horizon).
