You can find a lot of information about dementia on the internet, and many helpful resources exist for individuals and families, often in your own community. However, it can be tough to know where to start. That’s why AARP developed this simple guide to help you and your family navigate the dementia care journey.

Community Resource Finder

The Alzheimer’s Association & AARP Community Resource Finder is a comprehensive online tool to help individuals and families find dementia and aging-related services in their community. It is free to use and searchable by zip code. It includes a glossy of common terms, tip sheets to help guide decisions regarding providers and services, and links to online caregiver communities.








The Global Council on Brain Health (GCBH) is an independent collaborative, created to provide trusted information on how you can maintain and improve your brain health. Visit the website for the latest research and findings to improve brain health.




Led by AARP Michigan, the Alzheimer's Association Michigan, and the Michigan Alzheimer's Disease Research Center, the Michigan Dementia Coalition is a group of organizations and individuals working together to improve quality of life for people living with dementia and their families. Visit the Michigan Dementia Coalition online to learn about ongoing efforts to make Michigan a "dementia capable" state.
