About Us
Alexander van Kemenade (Alex) is senior vice president of impact analytics at AARP Foundation. His responsibilities include overseeing the Foundation’s research, evaluation and program investment functions.
An economist by training, Alex’s passion is in using data to understand what works in furthering the Foundation’s mission of ending senior poverty. He and his team lead data-driven initiatives to shape the Foundation’s strategy, optimize program design and generate thought leadership. He is also responsible for ensuring that the deployment of Foundation resources is cost effective and scalable.
Before joining AARP Foundation, Alex held a number of leadership positions at The Economist Group. He was global head of advanced analytics at Economist Impact, where he developed numerous new data analytics capabilities for consulting clients and led their deployment across the company’s global research programs. Prior to that, he led the Economist Intelligence Unit’s macroeconomic research and forecasting team for China.
Alex holds a master’s degree in economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a bachelor’s degree in social science from the University College of Utrecht.
