FROM CONNECTICUT

My nana's name is Betty and I live with her and my Grandpa Bill taking care of them. Nana and Grandpa are getting up in their years and need basic help. They can't do gardening or strenuous work anymore because they are just not able to withstand the heat and cannot work for very long. Nana takes blood thinners and if she even scraped herself she bleeds. Her skin is so thin and any little bump causes heavy bruising. Grandpa is hard of hearing and has a bad knee from where he fell in the outbuilding last year. Just a few years ago he was laying concrete for a patio for Nana. Now he can't lift a sack of potatoes. Nana spends a lot of her day tatting doilies for her friends who are at the nursing home. She had to stay there when she hurt her leg and get physical therapy and she met a lot of people who are still her friends. We live a simple life, Nana and Grandpa are simple people and so am I.
