FROM INDIANA

I cared for my mother for 2 & 1/2 years before she died in 2010, her name was Opal. She & my dad were pastors for 45 years in the state of Indiana. When my dad got sick she cared for him in their home while he was bed fast. He died in 1998. Then my sister took care of mom for a little while until she herself got sick and had to go to the hospital. So I took my mom into our home and cared for her as well as I could. She was always such a sweet person to everyone, then she started getting dementia, and we took her to the doctor quite often. I gave her all her meds every day, and the doctor said that is all I could do for her. We did have nurse aid that come here once a week and gave mom a bath and helped her change into clean clothes. We became good friends with the nurse aid. But then one day mom just was not acting herself and we called in for help, we took her to the hospital emergency room and they admitted her to the hospital and said she had a really bad UTI. Then she got worse instead of better, and within 4 days she gave up her last breath and went home to be with her Lord & my daddy. She was here for about 2 & 1/2 years before she died and did not complain about having to leave her home, and told me many times how thankful she was that we were caring for her and giving her a good home to live in. I MISS HER AND MY DAD REV. S.T., so much, but I know I will see them again one day when God says it is time.
