FROM KENTUCKY
My grandfather was in a hospital bed at home with my grandmother. I would come over daily to help her feed him and clean linens. He was unable to get up or do most things for himself. I didn't expect payment due to it being a close family member. This was about 10 years ago. We would feed him and clean him throughout the day. I would go to school in the mornings and I would come over after to help her take care of him. I would do anything to have him back in my life. He loved fishing and gardening I'm his spare time. He also loved listening to elvis and we would play oldies music for him every day. It taught me a lot of responsibility and respect for my elders. His name was Earl and he taught me valuable life lessons. Thanksgiving and Christmas was spent there with the whole family sitting around him laughing and talking about old stories of when my mom was younger.
