FROM MAINE

I'm Ingrid and my son is Ender. I care for him every day because he is disabled. Ender has an eating problem. His brain does not alert him when he is full and he feels hungry all the time. He is 775 pounds and is bedfast. Ender is very intelligent and has a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science. We have tried medications, diets, gastric sleeve, gastric bypass, gastric balloon, hypnosis, camps for the obese, nothing has worked. The weight has steadily increased since 1986. Ender was in high school and was picked on by the jocks and hoodlums both because he was smart and what they called nerdy. He turned to food for comfort and went from being a little chubby to morbidly obese. We do have weight issues in our family, many of us are what you might call overweight and out of shape but Ender is the largest that anyone of us have even been. I am afraid for his life. His joints are always sore, he has bed sores and gets skin infections, he cannot properly care for himself and use proper hygiene techniques. I am worried that I will come home and he will be deceased and then I will be alone. My son is so very lost. I wish I could help him find his real and true self again.
