FROM NORTH CAROLINA

I was a caregiver for my dad and mom both. My mom died in 1999 when I was 18. My dad died in 2014. I was a caregiver for my dad for several years. I changed wounds, took him to doctor visits and cared for him when he was transferred to a nursing home. He suffered from kidney failure and dementia. He passed in hospice April 2014. Caregiving is a very difficult job but I wouldn't have given up that chance to spend time with him for anything. I miss him and mom a lot. I would never wish illness or sickness on any family. It is horrible watching your loved one lose their memories.
