FROM PENNSYLVANIA

I took care of a beautiful lady by the name of Faye, a woman that was into speaking her own mind, including when it came to politics. Even though Faye was stern, she was a person, that stood by her word, and meant what she said. Faye was about 4 foot 11, maybe 115 pounds, we would laugh a lot, and believe me she loved her family, all of her family. She would make me laugh , some days when I was feeling down and I would do the same for her. Once I can remember, I told her that I did not know how to make homemade, and did not want to know, just too consuming and that was my time, the lady tricked me, she had me go into the kitchen and get all the ingredients, so I thought was for a cake, it was for homemade noodles and they came out perfect. I was with Faye on up until the day, she passed, a total of 3 years, I not only was her caregiver, but her friend as well, and I often think about the little lady that I grew so fond of, a bond that no one could break, thank you Faye and family! You know its hard being a caregiver, LPN, RN, and medical profession, one is told do not grow attach, do not get emotional, that is totally impossible not to do. If one is compassionate, loving care, you are going to get attached! What we fail to realize, God willing, someday we might be that age, or God forbid, something might happen to us, that we need care and love, by someone that really cares about us as human beings. Not just old, young or disable, or just even to converse with another person, because their own children might be busy taking care of their own families. A hug, a funny story, a token that you appreciate them for who they are, and what they might of endured throughout their life time, to invite their wisdom into your heart and learn, from what they have seen and heard. To watch their eyes sparkle when you enter their home or their rooms, to compliment them, and ask how was your day, and to let them know that they are not alone, for I am not only their for them, so is God, every step of the way, our father, is there! For God only knows when he will call us home, there is no age limit, when he says, your coming home, your going, no matter how poor, rich, color of ones skin, religion, knowledge, how many family members one might leave behind, with hurt, but what so special is one still has the memories of that special one being in their life, no matter how long, or how short, for they live on within a persons life, for the rest of their life span, so everyone rejoice, that person is special!
