Debora

FROM TENNESSEE

My name is Debbie and I am the caregiver to my husband Rick. He was diagnosed with MS in 2001. We had several good years, until last year when he developed cellulitis in his right leg. It was so bad that he went septic, and developed toxic shock syndrome. He spent 15 days in the hospital and then came home with a pic line and 2 weeks of antibiotic infusion therapy, along with dressing changes of his leg wounds. 3 weeks later he developed colitis and was readmitted to the hospital. This episode also went septic, and he developed toxic mega colon. It took 33 days to get him able to come home. This last year has been a true struggle, from a financial, as well as health, stand point. He is doing better, but is now confined to a wheelchair, so he needs help with daily activities. I am, and will continue to be, that help.
