FROM WYOMING

I am the caregiver for my friend Gigi. She has Hodgkin's disease, she has been fighting it for 4 years and she is struggling right now. Sometimes I help her with the big things and sometimes it's the menial tasks that need taken care of such as making sure the trash gets out for the garbage man on the correct day so it doesn't sit for a week and stink up the place. I decorate cakes and we have a lot of mistake cakes or cakes that people don't buy for whatever reason, so I make Gigi a lot of smiley cupcakes and rainbow cakes. We share them with her mom and her sisters and all her nieces and nephews. We try to have a mini party every weekend to keep up everyones spirits. The biggest chore is trying to make Gigi laugh. She is usually the prankster and joker but when she is sick, she barely utters a word and that frown is the saddest sight a person could see. I do all that I can to put even the littlest smile on her face and bring her the littlest bit of happiness. That's what best friends are for, to cheer you up when you're blue. I need her to get better soon, I need her laughter.
