September 5: Michael Keaton, 70
Keaton was fantastic in 2014's Birdman, but is best known for his role as DC Comics’ Caped Crusader in 1989's Batman and 1992's Batman Returns — which he'll take on again in the film The Flash, starring Ezra Miller, coming in 2022.

September 7: Chrissie Hynde, 70
The front woman and her new wave band, the Pretenders, made a splash on the charts in the ‘80s with hits like “Brass in Pocket,” “Kid” and “Stop Your Sobbing.” She recently released an album of Bob Dylan covers called Standing in the Doorway.

September 13: Stella McCartney, 50
This English fashion designer and daughter of Paul McCartney launched her own fashion house in 2001. A devoted vegetarian — like her dad and mom, the late animal rights activist Linda McCartney — she uses no fur or leather in her fashions, and recently debuted a line of vegan sneakers, Reclypse, made with recycled materials.

September 16: Amy Poehler, 50
This onetime cast member of Saturday Night Live left the series in 2008 to star as Leslie Knope, a good-hearted bureaucrat in the fictional town of Pawnee, Indiana, on the sitcom Parks and Recreation. (She and her former castmate Nick Offerman now cohost a craft competition show, Making It, on NBC.) These days she often works behind the scenes as a director, including on an upcoming documentary about the relationship between iconic comedian Lucille Ball and her husband Desi Arnaz.

September 17: Elvira, 70
Born Cassandra Peterson, she became Elvira, wearing a mound of brunette hair and sporting a sexy black gothic gown while hosting Elvira's Movie Macabre, a weekly presentation of B movies. Elvira eventually went from a cult pop figure to a lucrative brand, inspiring Halloween costumes, comic books, pinball machines and dolls. Her book Yours Cruelly, Elvira: Memoirs of the Mistress of the Dark comes out this month.

September 18: Lance Armstrong, 50
This Lone Star state superstar cyclist came back to the sport after battling testicular cancer. He was heralded for his perseverance and remarkable comeback — until he was ensnared in one of the largest doping scandals in history, and stripped of his seven Tour de France wins and 2000 Olympic Bronze medal. Banned from his sport, Armstrong is now a dad of five, still cycles regularly and runs two businesses in Austin, Texas: a coffee shop and a bike shop.

September 18: Jada Pinkett Smith, 50
The actress and matriarch of a showbiz family, including husband Will Smith, son Jaden and daughter Willow, is known for her work in The Matrix franchise, and lately her issues-oriented podcast on Facebook Watch, Red Table Talk, which she hosts with Willow and her mother Adrienne Banfield-Norris. She's set to appear in a yet-untitled fourth Matrix film, again playing rebel Niobe, and in the Netflix-produced sequel to the popular 2019 murder mystery Knives Out.

September 25: Mark Hamill, 70
He'll always be remembered as Luke Skywalker, and he has reprised his iconic role from 1977's Star Wars many times, including in 2015's Star Wars: The Force Awakens and 2017's Star Wars: The Last Jedi. He was also digitally transformed to look like young Luke last year for an appearance in the Season 2 finale of TV's The Mandalorian.

September 30: Angie Dickinson, 90
The North Dakota-born star's long career included roles in popular films, such as the original Rat-Pack-adjacent Ocean's 11 in 1960 (she also had a cameo as a boxing spectator in the 2001 remake); romances with leading men like Frank Sinatra; and, in the 1970s, starring as a cop — a groundbreaking role for a woman at the time — in NBC's hit crime series Police Woman, a spinoff from Police Story.
