Recognizing Age-Friendly Businesses, Arts and Culture in Portland, Maine

A video from the 2023 AARP Livable Communities Economic Development Workshop

PORTLAND, MAINE

Used by many cities in the AARP Network of Age-Friendly States and Communities, the Age-Friendly Business designation identifies retailers, restaurants and other establishments that have committed to being accessible and welcoming to older adults. Recognizing that the arts are integral to the culture and economy of downtown Portland, Maine, the city has expanded its age-friendly business initiative to include several galleries and museums.
