Pain Management
About 50 million older adults are living with pain, and caregivers can find it very stressful. Six videos, funded by the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Foundation and developed by Alliance members, the AARP Public Policy Institute and the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis, help caregivers understand pain, and familiarize them with ways to assess and treat it.

Preparing for a Hospital Stay
Funded by The John A. Hartford Foundation, this video series seeks to provide family caregivers an understanding of what to expect before, during, and after a hospital stay. It also shares how the 4Ms of age-friendly care — What Matters, Medication, Mentation, and Mobility — relates to the older adult they care for. This series was developed by Home Alone Alliance members—the AARP Public Policy Institute and the Rush Center for Excellence in Aging.

Managing Medications
These videos not only seek to help family caregivers but to also teach nurses and nursing students ways in which they can role-model them and work with families in very meaningful ways that support the family member performing the difficult task. Part One and Part Two of the series was developed by Alliance members—the AARP Public Policy Institute and the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC, Davis. Part Two was funded by Centene Foundation for Quality Healthcare.
