AARP’S STABLE OF digital newsletters has just added a new title: Experience Counts, a celebration of the values many older Americans grew up with and still live by. Experience Counts, which debuted this spring, occupies a fresh space among AARP’s newsletter portfolio, says AARP’s executive editor of specialized content, Shelley Emling. “It’s something of a ‘good news’ newsletter,” she says. In a world of never-ending depressing headlines, Experience Counts is about finding the good in America. It features real-life tales of patriotism and resilience, and taps into the know-how of wise older Americans.

It is available free to AARP members and nonmembers alike. In addition to receiving the newsletter twice a month, you’ll get opportunities to connect with like-minded people in the newsletter’s online community, where you can share stories from your life and hear from others. Subscribe for free at aarp.org/experience-counts.

All AARP newsletters offer community opportunities. There are in-person events, gift boxes and private Facebook groups like The Ethel Circle and The Girlfriend Book Club. Find out about all of them at aarp.org/newsletters.
