Since 1968, AARP Foundation Tax-Aide has helped over 80 million taxpayers to file their returns. This year, nearly 28,000 Tax-Aide volunteers helped secure almost $1.3 billion in total refunds for nearly 1.7 million people. AARP Foundation Tax-Aide is the nation’s largest volunteer-based free tax assistance and preparation service.
As a Tax-Aide volunteer, you’ll receive training and support with IRS-certification, learn new skills, and connect with people in your community while giving back. You will help older taxpayers feel welcome and at ease by greeting them, gathering and organizing their paperwork, and describing the tax prep process. Help ease the stress of tax season for older adults with low to moderate income.

You will help older adults with low to moderate income prepare and file their tax returns online, providing them with deductions they may have missed and the refunds they deserve. Your assistance will help relieve the burden and stress of their doing their own taxes. Experience is not necessary; we will provide training and IRS certification.
