Toyota is recalling an estimated 168,000 of its 2022 and 2023 model trucks over concerns their plastic fuel tubes may rub against the brake line and leak fuel, increasing the risk of fire.

The recall affects Tundra and Tundra Hybrid vehicles, the company said in a recall announcement.

Toyota dealers will first install temporary protective materials and a clamp on the fuel tube at no cost to customers. Once the final remedy parts are available, fuel tubes with an improved part and additional clamps will be replaced.

Affected Tundra owners will be notified about the issue by early October, Toyota said.

To see if your vehicle is involved in a safety recall, visit Toyota.com/recall or NHTSA.gov/recalls and enter your vehicle identification number (VIN) or license place information.

Toyota customer support can be reached by calling 800-331-4331.
