Pilates Anytime: Maintaining Mobility for Life

In Class 1 of the 40-minute Pilates series, enhance and improve balance

Pilates Anytime

Welcome to this restorative, beginner-level Pilates class led by Tom McCook, an instructor for the online streaming platform Pilates Anytime. In this class, you’ll learn how to focus on enhancing joint mobility and improving balance.

McCook will teach a full-body, joint-mobility sequence of Pilates moves that works on lubricating your joints so you can feel more supple and resilient, and you may find yourself feeling freer and more mobile. A majority of the class is held standing, so you will also be able to work on your balance and stability. Props that you may want to have on hand: a mat, two tennis balls and a small towel.

Tom McCook is the founder and director of Center of Balance in Mountain View, California, and is an internationally recognized Pilates teacher and movement specialist. Since 1984, McCook has been designing health and life programs for a range of clients, and his mission is to improve people's lives through movement and understanding their own bodies. He lives on the coast outside San Francisco with his wife and business partner, Karen deMoor.
