(You can stream all nine seasons on Netflix.) How well do you remember the show that was known as being “about nothing” but nonetheless produced so many memorable lines and scenes? Gather ‘round the Festivus pole and take our quiz to find out!

Question 1 of 10

What’s the name of the diner where the group often meets?

Arnold’s was the diner in Happy Days, while Central Perk was the coffee shop in Friends, and the Beverly Hills 90210 gang hung out at the Peach Pit. The outside of Monk’s features an Upper West Side diner called Tom’s Restaurant that’s still serving customers. (The show cropped out “Tom’s” from the neon sign out front.) The interior scenes, which don’t resemble the real Tom’s, were shot on a Hollywood soundstage.

Question 2 of 10

What clothing item is Jerry tricked into wearing on The Today Show by Kramer’s “low-talking” girlfriend?

The comedian’s frilly shirt proved so popular that it was later donated to the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History, along with an original script from the episode.

Question 3 of 10

What is Kramer’s first name?

Before Michael Richards landed the role of Kramer, he had auditioned to play Al Bundy on Married …With Children — and even got a callback before future Modern Family star Ed O’Neill landed the role.

Question 4 of 10

True or false: For three seasons, George worked for the New York Mets?

Jerry Seinfeld is famously a megafan of the New York Mets, and Mets first baseman Keith Hernandez even has a cameo in Season 3. But when it came to finding a job for long-unemployed George, cocreator Larry David said that the Yankees were the obvious choice due to the dynamo that was then-owner George Steinbrenner. “The chaos, the turmoil, that personality, we just thought he fit perfectly,” David told Peter Botte, for his book The Big 50: New York Yankees.

Question 5 of 10

What is the “Soup Nazi” known for saying?

Seinfeld writer Spike Feresten based the character on his experience at a take-out soup store in Midtown Manhattan called Soup Kitchen International, whose owner, Ali “Al” Yeganeh, really did enforce a strict ordering regimen and kicked out would-be customers who didn’t follow it. Yeganeh later licensed out his name and recipes, though the company subsequently filed for bankruptcy in 2017.

Question 6 of 10

Which of these is not one of Kramer’s wacky business ideas?

Kramer’s quirky business ideas inspired professors from Penn State and Syracuse University to publish a 2019 paper about using Seinfeld clips to teach business students “topics like market research, trends analysis, creativity, foundations of entrepreneurship, and customer feedback.” Perhaps the manssierre — or bro  — has a shot at getting into stores after all!

Question 7 of 10

True or false: Newman’s first name is never disclosed on the show.

Though Wayne Knight makes numerous appearances on the show as Jerry’s annoying neighbor, we never learn the character’s first name. In the episode “The Package,” he even distributes business cards that only say “Newman.”

Question 8 of 10

What future Emmy-winning actor got an early career break playing Jerry’s dentist?

Before he became the Emmy-winning star of Malcolm in the Middle and Breaking Bad, Bryan Cranston had a recurring role as Tim Whatley, a sketchy dentist who had a habit of regifting presents. Cranston later credited a crew member for suggesting one of his funniest bits — taking a hit of nitrous oxide before giving the mask to his patient, Jerry, for a dental procedure.

Question 9 of 10

What activity is Elaine notoriously bad at doing?

It’s hard to imagine anyone but Julia Louis-Dreyfus as the independent and outspoken Elaine Benes. After all, she won the first of her 11 Emmy Awards for the part. She beat out a host of other comedic powerhouses for the role — including Rosie O'Donnell, Patricia Heaton, Mariska Hargitay and Megan Mullally.

Question 10 of 10

What comedic actor played George’s dad, Frank Costanza?

Jerry Stiller was a comedy legend who broke out in the ‘60s performing with his wife, Anne Meara and then got a late career boost (and an Emmy nomination) playing George’s crotchety father on dozens of episodes of Seinfeld. Stiller, whose real-life son is actor-director Ben Stiller, went on to become a regular on the long-running sitcom The King of Queens. He died in 2020 at age 92.
