Advil Recalled From Family Dollar Stores

Family Dollar has recalled several varieties of Advil for being stored at improper temperatures, the store chain announced in a statement.

In 2022, the company recalled more than 440 health products over failure to follow temperature requirements.  

Drugs stored at high temperatures can quickly lose strength, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Drugs that don’t require refrigeration should be stored below 100˚F.

The recalled medication was stored and shipped to stores on or around June 1, 2022, through March 31, 2023. Family Dollar says it is not aware of any consumer complaints or illnesses related to the recall.

The products covered by the recall are: 

• Advil 200 MG Tablet 100 Count
• Advil 200 MG Caplet 24 Count
• Advil Dual Action 36 Count Caplet
• Advil Tablet 50 Count
• Advil Liquid Gel 40 Count
• Advil Tablet 6 Count
• Advil Liquid Gel Minis 20 Count 

Specific batch numbers for each product are outlined in the Family Dollar announcement.

Customers may return affected products without a receipt to the Family Dollar store where the products were purchased.

Questions regarding the recall can be directed to Family Dollar customer service at 844-636-7687 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET. Any problems related to taking the recalled medication should be directed to a health care provider.
