AARP Livable Communities

What do residents think about where they live, how they live — and how they want to live?

Survey Suggestion

Communities that use the printed questionnaire on their own (as opposed to working with AARP to access the digital version) can add a cover letter to the respondents that explains:

  • why the community is conducting the survey
  • the ways the data will be used
  • how they can share additional feedback — and get involved in helping the community be age-friendly for people of all ages

Developed by AARP Research and AARP Livable Communities, the Age-Friendly Community Survey can be used or adapted by communities seeking an answer to that question and many others.

The survey is available in English and Spanish. Use the PDF download links below to print and make copies of the 15-page survey. Communities can also request access to a digital version of the survey that can be completed and submitted online.
