Video 4: Age-Friendly Network Training

Learn about the important process of conducting a Community Assessment

This is the fourth in a series of six videos about the process of making a community more "age-friendly" by joining the AARP Network of Age-Friendly States and Communities

This video (or module), walks through the five elements of a community assessment —conducting an asset inventory; creating a comprehensive community profile; administering a community survey; hosting community listening sessions; and completing an analysis of the data a community collects during this process. The video explains how to find the right data, access free AARP resources, identify trends and themes within the data, and evaluate the data to help build an age-friendly action plan.

The age-friendly community assessment is designed to be the foundation of the age-friendly work, defining the initiative’s starting point and providing a baseline from which to measure future age-friendly accomplishments.
