ABOUT

Maxim Shvedov, MA, works on tax and budget issues at the state and federal levels. He focuses on such areas as tax burden, fiscal sustainability, tax provisions for retirement and caregiving, and other issues of relevance for Americans over age 50.

Shvedov began working in the AARP Public Policy Institute in 2010. Prior to joining AARP, he analyzed federal tax policy at the Congressional Research Service, specializing in SAS microeconomic simulations and worked as a senior economist at the Virginia Department of Taxation.

Shvedov holds a master’s degree in economics and finance from Binghamton University and a bachelor’s degree from Florida International University in Miami.
