The AARP Navigating Personal Finances Series provides timely insights on the views of Americans age 50-plus concerning their financial situation. The series explores older adults’ perceptions of their personal financial security, the importance of various factors on their finances, their top financial worries and concerns, and the actions they are taking to stretch their dollars or to save money. The inaugural wave of the series was fielded in August 2024.

Methodology

The polls in this series are fielded using the Foresight 50+ Consumer Omnibus. The samples of 1,000 are drawn from Foresight 50+, a probability-based panel funded and operated by NORC at the University of Chicago, designed to be representative of the U.S. household population age 50 or older. Interviews are conducted online and via phone. All data are weighted by age, sex, education, race/ethnicity, region, and AARP membership. For more information on Foresight 50+, please visit https://www.norc.org/services-solutions/foresight50.html.
