Warning: Spoilers ahead!

In the Nov. 2 episode of The Golden Bachelor, Gerry Turner, 72, fielded some pointed questions from the families of horse- and motorcycle-riding teacher Faith, Prince’s ex Leslie, and financial services pro Theresa. But the real stars of the episode were the grandkids.

Gerry faces the toughest love jury: the relatives

Gerry knows you don’t marry a woman, you marry a family. “It’s going to look a lot different from someone who’s in their 20s and 30s,” he said, “because I will be meeting the children instead of meeting the parents.”

If you think the Golden Bachelor and the women are cute, wait until you meet the grandkids

“Gerry, how old are you?” demanded Leslie’s blond granddaughter.

“Seventy-two,” he replied.

“How much girls have you kissed?”

“I don’t know, but a lot of them.”

"Do you actually love my grandma? And are you a couple?” He confirmed that they were.

“I think Grandma really likes you. Do you like to dance?”

The little girl got up and danced more adorably than any bachelorette yet, her blond curls flying.

“Yeah, very good!” Gerry accurately said.

At Theresa’s picturesque home in Shrewsbury, New Jersey, she ran to embrace Gerry like they were both made of magnets

Gerry met Theresa's daughter, Jen, Jen’s husband, Matt, their three boys and Theresa’s two sisters, and Theresa was even more lit up with love than when she’s alone with him. “I want to make sure that they like him," she said. "But how could you not like Gerry?”

Theresa’s daughter put Gerry on the spot

Jen wanted to know what Gerry saw in her mom.

“The first thing is how she looks at me,” he said. “And she’s always leaning in listening. And she’s so sweet.”

“So are you falling in love with my mom?”

“That’s such a hard question. And I’m not even sure I know what it feels like to fall in love again," Gerry said with a worried look — but not as worried as the look on Jen’s face.

Gerry’s true feelings are a mystery to him, too

“I only want to say ‘I love you’ to one more person in my lifetime,” Gerry said. Hmm, how many times will he say it on this show? “I hope I’m able to sort my feelings out and and do the right thing.” And we hope he realizes that, as the Golden Bachelor, that’s his whole job.

Theresa brings up the elephant in the room — or, rather, two elephants

“There are still two other women involved,” she said. “I’m 70. I’m competing with 60-year-olds.” Faith is 61, Leslie 64.

“I don’t think the age makes any difference,” both of her sisters agreed.

“Oh, well. That’s nice to hear,” said Theresa. But it would have been nicer to hear it from Gerry.

The grandkids tattle on Grandma

“She comes over a lot because she’s lonely," said one of Theresa’s grandsons. “It would mean a lot to her if you married her.”

Asked for the most notable thing about Theresa, one grandson said, “When she’s taking selfies, she does this weird face — I think they call it ‘duck lips.’” Then all three grandkids did a brilliant impression of Theresa pursing her lips for an imaginary phone camera.

Faith played pickleball with Gerry, so he had to ride horses with her

Faith rode into Gerry life on a motorcycle, but her true passion is equestrian — she wept as much showing where she’d buried a beloved horse as she has when pining for Gerry. So when Gerry visited Faith’s clan in Benton City, Washington, a place full of goats, coyotes and horses, of course he saddled up. She feared he’d fall, but Gerry rides tall in the saddle.

Faith’s protective big sister, Beth, cast a cold eye on Gerry

“Life’s been hard for her,” Beth noted. “And when I watched the way Faith was looking at Gerry with so much openness and so much love, I was like — holy crap!"

Her son Brendan posed the $64,000 question

“She falls hard and fast,” Faith’s son Brendan warned Gerry. “It could be really hard and hurtful because you have two other women as well.”

“So are you in love?”

“Yeah, I kind of think I am,” Gerry told Brendan unreassuringly, after the longest ominous pause you ever heard.

Faith reassured herself but didn’t feel altogether reassured

“We’re in love with each other — we said that, it’s official!” said Faith exultantly. Then she added, “But I have no way of knowing how this will turn out,” and wept.

Gerry confessed that he’s a ball of confusion

He compartmentalized his passion for each woman. “I think how I want to handle this is to consider that I have a Faith box, and I have a Leslie box and I have a Theresa box." Well, that settles it! If you’re a polygamist.

In Minneapolis, Leslie’s relatives sized Gerry up

Leslie’s brother Stuart told Gerry it was strange talking to a guy who’s dating his sister plus two other women — but at least it’s no longer 21 others.

“Believe it or not, it feels strange to me too,” said Gerry. “All of a sudden I’m in a situation where I have to severely hurt feelings.”

Gerry got Leslie’s hopes up

He said he could see himself marrying Leslie.

“My heart just like exploded!” Leslie told him. “I’m over the moon happy now that you said it back. I’m ecstatic and hopeful.”

But she better not start phoning bridesmaids yet

"I’m in love with three women,” Gerry told the camera. (Funny how he never tells this to a woman’s face.) “I’ve met three families. I honestly have no idea how I’m going to decide.”

Gerry decided not to decide

After giving Leslie a rose, he couldn't bear to send either Theresa or Faith home roseless, so he fled the rose ceremony in tears. “I feel like I’m going to throw up,” Gerry said. Cliffhanger time! Tune in next week when he’s absolutely forced to break at least one heart.
