Get ready for the premiere of The Golden Bachelor (Thursday, Sept. 28, at 8 p.m. ET on ABC), the reality show about grownup romance, by watching this exclusive video of Golden Bachelor Gerry Turner, 72, spilling how jittery he feels as he’s about to face the 22 women (average age: 67) whom he’ll meet on the show.

The Golden Bachelor is a likely hit of the fall season, and Turner is all over the news lately, taking over L.A.’s iconic Mel’s Drive-In for one of many Golden Bachelor events. Turner’s affable — yet perhaps a bit apprehensive — grin appears on a Beverly Hills billboard along with the headline of an AARP article about him: “He’s hot. He’s sexy. He’s 72.” The show’s marketing head Shannon Ryan told The New York Times, “This is certainly the first time in a ‘Bachelor’ campaign that we used a quote from AARP in our billboards.”
