14 Cinco de Mayo Deals and Freebies

Find discounts on tacos, burritos, taco pizzas and more on May 5

Though it’s often mistaken for Mexican Independence Day, historically, Cinco de Mayo (or the fifth of May) marks the Mexican army’s 1862 victory at the Battle of Puebla during the Second Franco-Mexican War. While Cinco de Mayo isn’t largely celebrated in Mexico, many restaurants in the U.S. take the opportunity to offer food and drink deals. Here’s where you can find discounts.

Baja Fresh

From May 1 to 5, Club Baja Rewards members can get $5.55 off a $20 order (pretax). Use the code BAJACINCO when ordering online.

Casey’s

The convenience store chain with 2,600 locations throughout 17 states offers its large taco pizza for $14. (It’s typically $16.99.) Use the promo code TACO at checkout, online or on the app, through Sunday, May 5, to redeem.

Chili’s

The casual dining joint will have sales on alcoholic drinks on May 5. The Tequila Trifecta (three premium tequilas, shaken, with triple sec and fresh sour) is $5; Tito’s Watermelon Spritz (made with vodka, tequila, triple sec, fresh sour, watermelon syrup and soda water) will go for $6. Chipotle

Order from the Chipotle app or online and use the promo code CINCO24 to waive the delivery fee through May 5.

Chronic Tacos

Loyalty members ordering through the Chronic Tacos app can get $5 off an order of $25 or more. Find a location near you.

Chuy’s

Customers dining at Chuy’s locations on Sunday can order a regular house margarita (lime, strawberry or swirl) for $6 or a grande house margarita for $10 and keep the giveaway cup, while supplies last. An extra pour of tequila is an additional dollar. Chips and dips will be $5 all day.

Del Taco

Del Taco offers deals starting on Friday, May 3. Make a purchase of $10 or more, and get any burrito for free. Want to order in? There is no delivery fee on orders of $15 or more. To redeem either offer, customers need to be part of Del Yeah! Rewards, and orders should be placed or scanned through the Del Taco app or online.

El Pollo Loco

Through May 5, buy a $50 e-gift card to the fire-grilled-chicken restaurant, and get a separate $10 bonus card. Loco Rewards members can get $20 off a $100 catering order through May 5. On May 5, members can get two free shredded chicken crunchy tacos with an in-app order of $10 or more. Members also have delivery fees waived all day.

Moe’s Southwest Grill

Moe Rewards members can get a burrito or a bowl for $5.55 on May 5. Redeem the deal through your Moe Rewards account. The Homewrecker, Moe Meat Moe Cheese, Edgy Veggie and kids menu items are excluded from the deal. There are additional charges for premium proteins and extras. If you’re one of the first 30 guests to stop in stores on Cinco de Mayo, you’ll receive a free T-shirt. Find a location near you.

On the Border

From May 1 through 5, guests can enjoy $5 specials: $5 Cinco rita, $5 Mexican draft beer and On The Border’s signature queso for $5.

Rubio’s Coastal Grill

Hosting a Cinco de Mayo party? Rubio’s rewards members can save on all catering orders through May 5. Customers can receive $20 off orders of $100 or more and $40 off orders of $200 or more. Orders should be placed online or in the app 24 hours in advance.

Taco Bell

Taco Bell Rewards members ordering through the app can receive five crunchy or soft tacos for $5.

Taco Bueno

Taco Bueno offers Party Tacos and Party Burritos for $1 on May 4 and 5. Find your location.

Taco John’s

Bigger Bolder Rewards members who purchase more than $5 can also receive a free beef Taco Bravo, a crispy taco wrapped in a soft tortilla, smothered with refried beans. Guests need to be signed up for the rewards program by May 4 to take advantage of the deal.
