2024 is a leap year, adding an extra day to the calendar, and some restaurants and other retailers are bringing extra savings to your wallet. Check out the offerings, some exclusively for people born on leap day (or “leaplings”), and see how you can take advantage by treating yourself during the quadrennial event.

Chipotle

Guacamole will be free on Feb. 29 for reward members using the code EXTRA24 at checkout on the app or ordering online. Throughout the week, the Mexican fast-casual chain has challenged its Instagram followers to uncover hidden words in its posts for a chance to win free guacamole for a year. Insomnia Cookies

Customers who buy any six- or 12-pack of cookies will be treated to an extra classic cookie for free through Sunday, March 3. The cookie chain is hosting a party on Feb. 29 in stores for those with a leap day birthday. Show your ID to claim your birthday gift: six free classic cookies.

Wendy’s

The fast-food chain celebrates the extra day on the calendar and the addition of a new item, the Cinnabon Pull-Apart, by offering it for free during breakfast hours on Feb. 29. The Cinnabon Pull-Apart is cinnamon dough bites served with cream cheese frosting in a convenient cup. Customers can claim it at the drive-through or in stores until 10:30 a.m. local time while supplies last. No other purchase is necessary.

Legal Sea Foods

Treat yourself to two lobsters for $29 at Legal Sea Foods on Feb. 29. The deal is available for dine-in customers only (except at airport locations), while supplies last on the leap day. Sides are not included in the deal but can be ordered a la carte. If you enroll in the restaurant’s rewards program on Feb. 29, you can receive 229 points, worth more than $10 in savings.

Dunkin’

Dunkin’ Rewards members can get a medium cinnamon vanilla coffee for $2 on leap day when ordering through the mobile app. Members will get four times the points on that day as well.

Krispy Kreme

Krispy Kreme is offering a dozen of its original glazed donuts for $2.29 with the purchase of a regularly priced dozen. Customers with a leap day birthday can receive a free glazed dozen with no purchase when they show their ID in stores.

Papa Murphy’s

The take-and-bake pizza company is giving customers 29 percent off their online orders of $20 or more. Use the code LEAP24 on Feb. 29 to redeem the offer.

Jeremiah’s Italian Ice

The Italian ice chain with 140 locations throughout 11 states will roll back prices for its J-List reward members on Feb. 29. Rewards club members can enjoy a 96-cent small gelato or Italian ice treat. Larger and specialty items will be normally priced.

Paris Baguette

Stop at a Paris Baguette location for a 29-cent medium coffee — hot or iced — with any purchase.

Round Table Pizza

Round Table Pizza offers $7 off a large or extra large pizza when customers use the code LEAP7.

Marco’s Pizza

Customers can get 29 percent off a menu-priced pizza using the code LEAP29 at checkout through March 3. The offer is valid only when ordering on the app or online.

Noodles & Company

Noodles Rewards members can receive 29 percent off orders of $29 or more. To sign up for this and other exclusive deals, download the Noodles Reward app or visit the company’s website.

BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse

Indulge in a discounted Pizookie (a large cookie topped with vanilla ice cream) on Feb. 29. Guests who spend a minimum of $10 can get the chain’s signature dessert for $2.99. The deal applies to those dining at any of the 220 locations across 30 states.

Milk Bar

Milk Bar offers an in-store birthday gift for customers with leap day birthdays. Show your government-issued ID and get a free 6-inch birthday cake. The offer is not valid at Nordstrom locations or milkbarstore.com.

Yogurtland

Rewards members can triple their points with in-store or online orders on Feb. 29. The frozen yogurt chain has more than 250 locations in the U.S. and internationally. Find a Yogurtland location near you.

Tiff’s Treats

The cookie chain is running a giveaway for customers with leap day birthdays. Fill out the form online by Feb. 29 for a chance to win a special cookie delivery from Tiff’s Treats. Winners will be announced via email.

Build-a-Bear

Build-a-Bear customers with a leap day birthday can get a special Birthday Treat Bear for $4 in stores while supplies last. Accessories and outfits are sold separately.

Great Wolf Lodge

The Great Wolf Lodge family resort is having a one-day deal on leap day. Make a reservation on Feb. 29 for stays at indoor water park resorts through June 13, 2024, for $29 per person when you have at least three guests per room. Book online using the code LEAP starting at midnight CST through 11:59 p.m. “There are a select number of rooms available at the $29-per-person rate for each date, and the discount may not be valid during holiday, school breaks and other blackout periods,” says Jason Lasecki, vice president of corporate communications at Great Wolf Lodge.
