June 20 marks the official start of summer, and some restaurant chains and grocery stores are offering deals to help you beat the heat. Check out these freebies and other promotions to celebrate the summer solstice.

Buffalo Wild Wings

The wing joint recently introduced its Luau BBQ sauce to the menu and brought back its Buffalo Ranch sauce. On June 20, you can try both sauces through a buy one, get one free order of boneless wings.

Casey’s

The convenience store chain in 17 states throughout the Midwest and South is getting in the summer spirit with a new BBQ Pulled Pork Pizza. Purchase any large specialty pizza (prices vary by location), including this latest item, and get cheesy breadsticks for $3 (discounted from $5.99) using the code STICKS.

Dunkin’

June 20 is Dunkin’s Iced Coffee Day, so you can indulge in a cold, caffeinated beverage and support a good cause at the same time. For every iced coffee sold (of any size), Dunkin’ will donate $1 to the Joy in Childhood Foundation, which awards grants to children’s hospitals, nonprofits and food banks.

Krispy Kreme

Buy any dozen doughnuts at the regular price and get another dozen Original Glazed Doughnuts for $1. Use the code SUMMER at checkout. There’s a limit of two dozen per customer when ordering in a store and one dozen per customer when ordering online for pickup or delivery through the app and website. If you’re lucky, you may be randomly selected to win a dozen glazed doughnuts.

Kroger

The supermarket chain is giving away 45,000 pints of ice cream to kick off the summer. On Thursday visit the Kroger website to get a single-use coupon for a free pint of Kroger brand ice cream. The coupon can be redeemed in a Kroger store or, for pickup and delivery orders, at any of the stores affiliated with Kroger, including Ralphs, Pay-Less Super Markets, Food 4 Less and others. These states are excluded from the promotion: Arkansas, California, Colorado, Idaho, Kentucky, Louisiana, Montana, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia and Wyoming. 

Marco’s Pizza

Just in time for the summer solstice, the pizza chain is turning up the heat with its new Fiery Flavors items. The menu includes pizzas (Fiery Pepperoni Pizza and Fiery Sausage and Peppers Pizza), pizzolis (Fiery Pepperoni Pizzoli and Fiery Sausage and Peppers Pizzoli), pizza bowls (Fiery Sausage and Peppers Pizza Bowl) and cheesy breads (Fiery CheezyBread and Inferno CheezyBread) — all made with a new spicy cheese blend. When customers order a large Fiery Flavors pizza and any cheesy bread, they can receive a free 2-liter bottle of Starry soda. Use the code FREESTARRY when ordering in the app or online. Try the Fiery Pepperoni Pizza starting at $8.99 or the Fiery Sausage and Peppers Pizza starting at $10.99 using the code FIERY at checkout.

Shake Shack

From 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. through June 26, you can cool down with a free shake — of any flavor or size — when you spend $10 at Shake Shack. Use the code FAVESHAKE when you order at a Shake Shack kiosk, online or through the mobile app. 

Additionally, June 21 is the last day to take advantage of the fast food chain’s Frydays deal: Spend $10 or more and use the code FRYDAY to get a free order of fries.

Smoothie King

Healthy Rewards members will see a deal on their account for 15 percent off any order completed in the app, online or in a store. (The new Dude Perfect Smoothie is not eligible for the discount.) On June 21, the chain is observing National Smoothie Day by offering Healthy Rewards members a free “up-size” on their order and three times the rewards points for the purchase. Each purchase also enters you into a sweepstakes with a $5,000 grand prize.

Sonic Drive-In

Sonic’s new Groovy Fries (curly fries) and Groovy Sauce (ranch, herbs and sriracha) are $1 through the end of June. The deal is valid for an order of fries of any size.

White Castle

From June 20 through June 23, White Castle is offering a buy one, get one free deal on a small shake after 8 p.m. Use the code SUMMER when ordering online.
