Amazon Prime Day, the annual two-day sale in which the e-commerce giant discounts hundreds of millions of items is back on this summer. In the sale’s 10th year, Prime members can get exclusive access to deals on brand names during the event. From when it runs to what you can save, we’ve got you covered with all the details.
What is Amazon Prime Day?
Amazon Prime Day is the e-commerce giant’s way of rewarding Prime Members for their loyalty. It typically runs in July and lasts 48 hours.
When is it?
The two-day sales event will start on July 16 at 12:01 a.m. PDT and run through July 17.
Do I need to be a Prime member to shop?
Anyone can shop on Amazon.com, but to take advantage of the Prime Day deals you have to be a member. Memberships, which cost $14.99 per month or $139 per year if you pay annually, gives you free delivery on over 300 million items, free same-day or next-day delivery, free streaming of some movies and music, and access to Prime sales. If you are not a Prime member, you can sign up for a free trial to shop the member-exclusive event.
What kind of deals can I expect to see?
In addition to giving shoppers percentages off, Amazon plans to roll out new deals as often as every five minutes during select periods of the shopping event. Invite-only deals are also back this year, which means Prime members can request an invitation to exclusive deals that are expected to sell out, such as 40 percent off Sony wireless headphones and 30 percent off Peloton products.
How much can I save?
Amazon says customers saved close to $2.5 billion from deals and coupons during last year’s Prime Day event.
