Maya Angelou and Henry Winkler were among those honored by AARP The Magazine at its Inspire Awards gala in Washington, D.C. on December 9, 2010. Every year the magazine pays tribute to 10 extraordinary people who have applied their passion, generosity and innovative thinking to the issues that matter most to AARP's members, including health care and financial security. In her closing remarks, the event's host Jane Pauley noted it was a "truly an inspirational evening."
