AARP turned 65 this year, and we celebrated by doing what we do best: finding ways to help improve the lives of Americans 50 and older. Here are just a few things we achieved in 2023 that we hope make you happy and proud to be part of the AARP family.

1. AARP urged the White House to issue an executive order supporting the nation’s 48 million family caregivers through more than 50 actions by federal agencies. And we worked at the state level for more workplace flexibility and paid leave options.

2. After decades of hard advocacy by AARP, Medicare announced the first 10 prescription drugs for which it will negotiate lower prices.

3. AARP Rewards: 4 million users have saved over $14 million so far in 2023.

4. Since its launch in 2016, 9 million people have downloaded the AARP Now app to have access to their digital membership card; get news and alerts; explore benefits and community events.

5. AARP had more than 35 million views on TikTok and reached more than 300 million people on Facebook.

6. About 100,000 people called our Fraud Watch Network Helpline, and The Perfect Scam celebrated its fifth birthday and its 165th podcast episode.

7. There were close to 300 million visits to aarp.org, an invaluable source for breaking news and lifestyle information.

8. Over 630,000 visitors explored the redesigned aarp.org/tools hub for help with debt, writing a résumé or finding a job.

9. AARP state and local teams connected more than 1 million people to over 8,500 fun and informative live and online events.

10. More than 2.4 million people visited AARP Staying Sharp to learn how to maintain brain health.

11. AARP Foundation Tax-Aide, our free nationwide tax assistance and preparation program, delivered more than $1 billion in tax refunds and tax credits to people 50-plus.

12. AARP The Magazine and the AARP Bulletin remain the two most-read publications in America. To celebrate AARP’s 65th birthday, the magazine’s first-ever bonus digital issue was published, devoted to aging well.

13. AARP’s upgraded Veterans & Military Spouses Job Center launched six new accredited continuing education courses to help veterans find jobs.

14. AARP’s Movies for Grownups held over 440 in-person screenings across 48 states, the District of Columbia and the Virgin Islands, enabling more than 46,000 people to see a free movie.

15. More than 2 million users learned about technology by visiting Senior Planet, at seniorplanet.org.

16. AARP launched a new podcast, Today’s Tips From AARP, to help you improve your health, money and happiness — all in five minutes or less.

17. Wish of a Lifetime From AARP granted its 2,500th life-changing experience to older Americans with a dream.

18. More than 600,000 first-time Medicare enrollees visited AARP’s Medicare Enrollment Guide for help navigating the program.

19. AARP launched the Experience Counts e-newsletter celebrating the good in America.

20. Viewers watched AARP Studios’ award-winning videos over 150 million times on platforms including aarp.org, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and TikTok.
